James Beard Award-winner and Food & Wine Magazine Best New Chef John Sundstrom was looking to innovate on his new cookbook named after his long-running restaurant Lark, with a digital version for the modern home chef. My task was to work closely with the cookbook designer, app developer, food photographer, and Jonathan to design the app, providing user flows, wireframes, and visual designs.


Through research and collaboration with this team, our final product shares 144 of Lark’s favorite recipes, all lushly illustrated with full-color step-by-step photographs and high definition video demos. Organized according to three distinct seasons - Evergreen, Bounty, and Mist - the app is an homage to the majesty and bounty of the Northwest. Rich in detailed instruction, inspiring recipes, and stunning images, this highly rated app was a favorite among home chefs.
